How to get to Put-in-Bay

There is no bridge to South Bass Island (Put-in-Bay, Ohio), but it is not difficult to cross to the Lake Erie Islands. You can arrive on one of the two ferryboat lines, fly with Griffing Flying Service or Island Air Taxi on a small commercial aircraft or arrive in your own personal boat or plane.

The Miller Boat Line (passenger & vehicle ferry) departs from Catawba Point and arrives at the southern end of the island. The Jet Express (passenger only ferry) departs from Port Clinton or Sandusky and arrives in downtown Put-in-Bay.

The Put-in-Bay Airport is located on the southeast side of the island. There are numerous taxi services available in the summer and will take you anywhere on the island for $3 per person. The Taxis normally wait at each ferry dock to meet each boat. If you fly in, you can ask for assistance in calling for cab service.
